We are still doing well in the weather department.
After chores I did a little shopping for an event we are attending in Rochester this weekend
(as I have no exciting dressy clothes) and then....
got on my Harley and (Ha ha....this bike belonged to the photographer taking our campaign pictures and he let me get on it for fun....not for a serious photo)
I delivered more T-shirts
signs and bumper stickers.
Passed through the SUNY Brockport Campus. It sure looks good.
This is one of the housing options....it's like a little European Village.
In 1979 the Special Olympics was held here and this piece was donated by a Russian Sculptor.
It stands in front of the Administration Building.
In the winter, students love having this walkway which connects the physical education complex and the library.
Here is another piece by the same sculptor. It's beautiful and represents all the children who participated. Gary was in charge of thousands of volunteers for this event and I headed up the Chaperon Assistants....one per child. A very big deal for Brockport. The Kennedys, many celebrities and a gazillion people. Our daughters were quite young then and Muhammad Ali picked up Stephanie when she fell down. Gary and I had lunch with Hank Aaron....and I got to work on the celebrity volleyball event. That sure was back in the day.
Ended up at Java Junction for lunch with Judy and Sally
I had a cauliflower quiche with a salad.
Judy had a turkey/cranberry croissant with veggie soup.
Sally had a roast beef croissant and took her soup home.
Late afternoon our friend Chris came over to get some sunflowers, as she was doing the arrangements for a wedding. She could not believe the height of our broom corn and took a couple of photos for me so you could see it.
Over 13 feet high...maybe more.
Chris has owned The White Farm, a local B & B for years....
and she works magic with flowers.
These little guys are going to be worn by the men in the wedding.
Dinner?
Took some cabbage soup out of the freezer and served it with extra sharp cheddar cheese, apples and pumpernickel bread topped with homemade raspberry jam.
Chores at 7.
Berlin and Abbe were very patient.
That's it for now.
Night all.
We vote for Skoog

Love you on the Harley! You should have started it up just to see the photographer's reaction.
ReplyDeleteThe Harley suits you!! I have been so thrilled with the September weather here also, here's hoping for a milder winter!
