One Country Block

Karen finally had a morning off and I soloed.  Miss Berlin was waiting for me.
Fortunately, the girls have been getting plenty to eat in the pastures and my second cutting grass is holding out well.

After chores I decided to go for a trike ride before it got muggier.  We hit 85 this afternoon.
Headed south and went around the block we live on...about 4 miles.
The first thing I saw was all these poppies growing next to the road.
Then I headed east and had a medium hill to tackle...no problem, even tho I have no gears.

Got to the corner and headed North.

 Turned West on Beadle.

When I got back to the farm, Carol and Topper drove in to get some rhubarb and brought us a bag of bagels...how thoughtful are they?  There were two magazines on the porch from Oregon and realized that I missed meeting Sara (who was also coming up for some rhubarb).  My trike ride took longer than I thought. Fortunately, Carol and Top were happy to drop it off on their way home.
Gary put in another long day at Sara's.  The place was out of control jumpin'.
I worked on a piece I am going to submit to a local paper about my Journal and eventually got dinner ready.
Fresh coleslaw, a new batch of roasted potatoes
and leftover drumsticks and pork loin from last night.
 Chores at 7:30.

While I was in the barn it started to rain.  We actually need it.

Got the girls tucked in and was damp by the time I got back to the house.
Sidney was guarding the joint and staying dry.
Night all.
