IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY UNTIL I ENDED UP IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM....

Chores as usual.

The garlic and rhubarb....growing like crazy.
Class as usual.  A new student started today....welcome Pat.

Shamra brought 5 dozen eggs... as usual.

 Then came the unusual.
I started cutting vines off the stone wall and that led to some pruning.
Sid was sleeping under the vegetation...looking dead.  Scared me until I realized he was just snoozing in the sun.
I tripped on a root, fell down and put a huge puncture in my left arm.  Was just about to take a set of keys to Gary (locked out of his van) so I ran water on my arm, covered it with paper towels and drove to Brockport where the emergency room was located.
I needed stitches and was all shot up with lidocane (sp?)...which has worn off and I'm hurtin'.
Gary picked up dinner and I snuck out to tuck the girls in.
My left arm was useless.

When he got home he picked the paddock for me.
End of story.
Night all.

  1. I'm so sorry to read this! This must be the last in your string of bad medical luck lately! I twisted my ankle the other day weeding my pathetic herb garden. Walked right into a hole...that I had just dug!

  2. What caused the puncture? Did you fall on your pruners? Ouch!

  4. And you still did your usual post... I'm sure it is mighty sore, can you keep it elevated, rest up, get heaps and heaps of TLC, and leave chores to Gary and the crew? I must say, I am so relieved to know it wasn't life threatening or worse, and when the "usual" photos emerged, was not so worried/concerned/ a little scared...that it was something else!! Hugs and take care.

  5. Oh noooooo, Lori. Do take care of yourself. Rina and I also checked out Sid under the branches and thought he looked very still. Glad he's OK and hope you'll soon be better. Greetings, Jo

  8. Oh ouch. Puncture wounds are nasty, they heal a bit more slowly. Hope you are feeling better and back to normal soon.

  9. Oh No! Puncture wounds are the worst but maybe by today you're feeling a little less pain. Hope you heal quickly and take it easy. I'm impressed you drove yourself to the hospital and delivered Gary's keys.
