Nap Time

I've been so busy I just could not fit everything in.
Yesterday it poured most of the day and it was very cold.
Between the Bazaar and After Hours @ the Library
I was unable to go to drumming...so out of the loop.
Do you see that Rambo sheet on Abbe?  The tail strap was gone so after she got soaking wet and rolled, she somehow got it totally off her body and then rolled again.  She was a disaster area by the time we noticed.  And believe me, it was cold and still raining.  They had an indoor full of hay...are they smart enough to go in there and eat?  Ended up putting them in early, scraped off Abbe and covered her up with a cozy, heavy cotton sheet for the night.
Muddy Buddies.

This morning, on the other hand, was gorgeous.  33 degrees but a welcome change.
The sun was so brilliant, when it came through the east window in the studio, it looked like the light was turned on.

The wind was pretty strong, so I'll bet it was barely 30 degrees.  Blankets all around.
After all, they are spoiled, aged and the Florida Babes are just getting into their northern groove.

Jenny and Scott came up for a late breakfast.  We had a fire going, and by the time they left I was ready for a snooze.  Read for about 20 minutes and was out like a light.
When our wood stove is going I feel like a wet noodle, but it is what makes winter just fine.

Gary moved a lot of leaves to the gardens this afternoon and I finally was motivated to go for a bike ride.  Hat, gloves, hoodie, jacket, phone and camera.  Still so cold it made my nose run.
Just a short ride....

I still say getting this trike was one of my better moves.

Tucked the girls in just before dark.

A very simple supper...hot dogs, baked beans and a carrot salad.
(Meanwhile, down in Kentucky, thecrazysheeplady was making blueberry pancakes!  And she told me she didn't cook!  Thank you Auntie Reg, for sending me this picture.  I'll bet they tasted great.)

Night all.
