All In A Day's Work

Fortunately, it was still cool this morning.
The girls were looking for apples.

 Class today.
 Another new student....welcome Terry.

They are all working in different mediums and doing well.

Today, I picked a LOT of zucchini and gave most of it away.  The green peppers are HUGE.
Only a little spinach left, and the next planting is slow in coming.
All kinds of activity a couple fields over from our farm.
Wham Bam!  They took off the wheat, made round bales
and picked everything up in a matter of hours.

Tonight I spoke at the Town Board meeting as there is a possibility that they are going to sell our Senior Center.
At least 45 seniors showed up and their support was greatly appreciated.
I  spoke first and was followed by 5 or 6 others.  We really behaved ourselves and made a lot of good points.
Hanny was the last speaker, and as a past director of the Center, concluded with gusto.  In fact, everyone that spoke did a great job.  It was all recorded and I look forward to seeing how we sounded.  A local tv station was there (Time Warner) along with a couple of newspaper reporters.  Hopefully we will gain some momentum when the public is more aware of what is going on.  All we want, is a piece of the pie.  According to the census, in 2000 there were 339 households occupied by people 65 and older...in 2010 there were 980!  That number continues to grow and this segment of the population deserves and has earned a senior center. The number of those 17 and under dropped by 564. It is not a competition, but instead an acknowledgement that all age-groups, all taxpayers, are important and the budget should proportionately reflect funding services that are paid for by the taxpayers of our town.  Let's see what happens.
 Night all.

  2. Gosh, I hope they don't close the Senior Center. That would be a mistake.
