So Far, So Good

Berlin!  Abbe!  Do you want your masks on?

Today Angel and Maggie were able to spend time in the outdoor arena.  They could be on grass for 2 hour stretches as there was very little there.  In and out several times today with Angel eating soaked hay in small amounts.  Both girls are looking good.
 Karen has been totally attentive.
I'm hoping that some friends from Kentucky are arriving tomorrow and they have requested homemade pizza...so today I started making a batch of sauce.

In between everything I spent some time in the barn with Karen and her girls.
Maggie could hear her outside the window and immediately went over to check things out.

This picture says a lot to me....what a connection between these two.
So grateful that Angel is on the mend.
Maggie is not neglected and seems totally relaxed here.

 Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....some grain.

Moon wants to know what's goin' on in there.  Actually, for the most part she, Berlin and Abbe have been very accepting of their new barn mates.

Dinner before chores tonight.  A cucumber, onion and red pepper salad....
with leftover eggplant parm and pasta.
More blossoms.  By the way....the weather was beautiful today.  High 70s.

Chores at 7.

I'd say we are approaching herd size here at the farm.  5 sweet mares.

By the time I went back to the house, it was almost dark and the moon was spectacular.

Night all.

  1. What a touching photo of Karen. I've never had a horse but I so appreciate the incredible bonds they form with their owners. As always, great shots of the moon! Would these guests from Kentucky happen to be a Saint and a crazy sheep lady?

  5. A girl and her horse, one superb pic, you captured the essence of their bond totally. Super sky, food and all else, so glad the new ones stopping en-route are all OK. Cheers, Jean.

  10. Ive had horses more then half of my life, and have ridden longer.

There really isnt anything more comforting, more wonderful, then having a daily routine that includes horses. It looks like Karen knows this :)

    As usual, beautiful photos, Lori!

  11. Dear Lori, I went back and read your earlier post about Angel and another horse coming to your farm from Florida. I was so relieved to learn there and again in this post that Angel is doing so much better. Will Karen be staying with you and the horses? They are such beautiful creatures--a gift of the Universe. Peace.

  12. OMG - how terrible. I became exhausted just reading your last two posts. I could almost feel everyone's anxiety and tiredness - how hard to sleep when you are so worried about a horse. How terrible, too, for the transporter.
It sounds like things are going to be OK - good wishes coming to all 2 and 4 legged critters!
