Saint Paddy's Day, the Titanic and a Photo Shoot

We had to be there at 1pm sharp!  It was a party at Ron and Ann's with a Titanic theme...they outdid themselves.  Everyone brought a dish to pass, some were dressed in period clothing they would have worn on the ship, and it was quite an afternoon!

We were greeted at the door by a couple of the mates...
a steward and the captain.
 The fare exceeded our expectations.

(and that's just half of it!)
There were 24 of us with food for 50.

During dessert we were given a 25 question quiz about the Titanic.  You earned "dollars" for the right answers that were used later to bid on auction items (that people brought).  I got a wine rack, a cookbook by Emeril and a CD.  Not too shabby.
Of course there was non stop picture taking.
Below is the woman who lives next door to Ron and Ann.  She was the real deal.
They set up a place in one of their rooms for picture taking and wanted you to think these people were on the front of the ship (all kinds of hats and boas to put on).  They even had a fan to make it look windy.

 What a gas....

A group of very game people.

So that's how we celebrated today.

  3. What fun! You and Gary look great -- and I should not be looking at those pictures of food at lunch time. The food in the hospital cafeteria is going to look like yuck after that spread.
