On and On and On and On......

I'm sure you all know the drill.

I went back to drumming today.  There were only 8 of us and we were cookin'.

Khalid has been working with us for weeks on a very long break that you play before starting into a particular set of rhythms.  Slowly but surely we are catching on.  This is just a very small section.

I left early and met Gary over at Apple Creek Farm, where Jack and Louise were holding an open house/farewell gathering for two Chinese women who have been doing research here (at SUNY Brockport) for the past 6 months.  Their husbands and sons flew over several weeks ago to join them, and they will go home on Monday.  What a great experience.  They joined us here at the farm for the locavore party and the belated Christmas Eve pot luck and have been social butterflies....making lots of new friends.

Of course, Louise outdid herself in the food department.

Living in a college town has many advantages....and meeting people from all around the world is one of them.  Through the college or the canal we have had the pleasure of hooking up with so many.

I left before Gary and went home to feed the ponies, dogs and cats....

Jumped back in the car and drove down to Jenny's for a chili party...who could eat another bite?
I swear to you, there were 20 gallons of chili, pulled pork, dips, cornbread, salads and dessert.  She invited 52 people and over half were kids.

 The hostess with the mostest.
Hey!  There's Jenny Ames (Jenny's long time friend and college roommate, who lives down the street).
And the night's not over.  A friend is coming to check out the indoor arena for a photoshoot tomorrow...with some dancers?  Could be very interesting....they just got off a plane from New York City at 8:15.  A very busy day!
Night all.

  1. I'm glad your arm felt well enough to play. I've got my feet up on the couch. Man do they ache. That walk back today was not fun.

  2. What a day! The chili party sounds fabulous. Did you pick up any chili secrets? I love that no two pots of chili are ever the same.

Looks like a lot of fun times and socializing. I swear I don't know how you keep your calendar straight.
