The view was a little different this morning. Instead of grass I saw this.
The wind caused the snow to drift....a perfect day to put hay under the shed roof.
A little over 20 degrees with off and on squalls.
Of course when Jill and I left for the Rochester Farm Market at 10, the conditions were the worst.
Normally, we have gone on a Thursday...today was a whole nother story. The place was packed inside and out.
You name it, and they had it.
Someone I know bought a couple of lobster tails for a special dinner coming up.
And of course we hit the bakery.
and the cheese shop where they had about 15 samples available.
Jill went back to the car once and then we continued to shop and got more bags of goodies. I need to take a cart!
Today I got a basket of oranges - $3, basket of Empire apples - $3, 5 red peppers - $2, Asparagus - $1, bag of organic mixed greens - $3, 3 heads of Romaine - $1 each, 10# of cooking onions for $3, 2 small loaves of crusty bread - $1.20, 2 pastries - $2, basket of tomatoes - $3
On the way home we went to Java Junction for lunch. The Brockport Art Guild has a show up.
Jill had mushroom soup and a Greek Panini.
I had the usual...Greek Panini with a salad.
When we left is was snowing....
Went home and put away all the goodies....made up a basket for Jen and drove down to her house to help her rearrange a few things. Needed to set up her kitchen/family room that Gary painted. We made quite a bit of progress. Gary had to bail us out as we did not have a drill to get the cable moved for her tv. Once he arrived, all kinds of big moving took place. By the end of tomorrow things should be in pretty good shape.
Jenny lives in a large development next to a woods. While we were there, 6 deer ran behind her backyard fence. It snowed somemore!!!!!
Got home just in time to go out and do chores. By then, the flakes had stopped and there was some color in the sky. The girls were happy to be going in. It was in the teens.
Phoebe went in early, and Gucci stuck it out with me.
Made a great dinner in about 30 minutes. Sauteed a big onion...threw in one diced tomato at the end.
The salad was mixed greens, onion, one whole red pepper and feta cheese.
That little loaf of crusty bread I bought today (60 cents) was just right.
(Last call for the remaining flowers I got over 4 weeks ago.)
Made some bow ties....carrot and tomato....topped with olive oil, the onions and tomatoes, fresh ground pepper and romano cheese.
You had to be there.
Night all.
Your day sounds wonderful - a winter wonderland of snow and food!
