VISITORS FROM PUNKIN'S PATCH....

This morning was no different from yesterday...started out with beautiful skies...

and ended up raining most of the day.

Today the geese were right next to the windmill.
At 10am Sara and Tim (from Kentucky) arrived via Geneseo.
After a brief conversation, Sara and I headed for a tack sale.  The place was jammed!

 Remember Barb?  She was there.
Home a little before noon...Gary and Tim had gone on a little road trip.  We were going out to lunch, but first stopped at the Welcome Center so they could see the Erie Canal.

Our next stop was the Crooked Door for some eats.
We left around two and went to look at a Quarter Horse in nearby Kent.  Sara mentioned that she has been looking for a nice, safe riding horse so I called my friend Andrea and she told me about "Hickory." We made arrangements with the owner and went to have a look.
 A very sweet boy.
While waiting for the owner to get home, we took a drive out to Oak Orchard so they could see the lake.
The winds were very strong and the lake was rough.
Gary really enjoys showing people around the area....a traveloger....

Followed Paige to a nearby indoor.  She rode Hickory first...an outstanding rider and he was the perfect horse.
Then it was Sara's turn.  Hickory is a 13 year old quarter horse who started out Western and ended up eventing.  Quiet.  Steady and well mannered!
They don't come much better than Hickory....will he be heading down to Kentucky?

On the way home we stopped at Wegman's....as requested.
Jill did chores with Ralph while we enjoyed the fire.  Before dinner, Sara and I went out to visit the ponies.
Look at that camera.  No wonder her pictures are spectacular.
We did not eat until about 8 as we were still full from lunch.

Eggplant parm, salad, white pasta and crusty bread.

Then it was time to cozy up to the fire.
Sidney could not get enough of Sara.

Dessert and conversation.  What fun.  We had never met Tim until today...he and Gary really hit it off.  And to think I met Sara through blogging.
Night all.

  9. Oh, Lori, how I love your posts. It is so good to be back to blogging. Since my hubby is living up here most of the time now and is a fabulous cook, I will have some nice dinner plates full of good food in my future posts. I think you gave me the idea for that. Looks like you guys had a great time.

  10. What a beautiful view for the people on the lake. I'm not sure I would care for the wind (and lack of space), but can you imagine sitting in their windows? How nice.
