I COULD HAVE SLEPT ALL AFTERNOON....

We are still in a grey mode....and Abbe is still favoring her right hind.
Phoebe and Gucci assumed their positions....
while Gary and I went to a volunteer recognition luncheon at the Senior Center.
Home by 1:30 and did a little work outside before I got into a soup making mode.
Leek and potato.  Decided we should invite someone to share it with us, so I called Roger and Tina around 4.  They were game.
 Picked some green plum tomatoes....
set the table, and before I knew it....Tina and Roger arrived....

with a beautiful bouquet of flowers from their garden.
Jill did chores and I packed her a dinner to go.
Along with the soup we had a plum tomato salad with sweet onions and crumbly blue, pickled beets and fried green tomatoes with a chili/mayo sauce.  Outstanding flavors.
 Yum.

 Good friends....good conversation.
They left by 8 and Sidney came in for his late supper.
Night all.

  5. Yes, the cool weather calls for soup making . . .and pie baking . . .and naps! The dogs look so comfy on their chair.

  6. What a scrumptious dinner! Beautiful flowers. Ollie is also still lame in front...I hope that Abbe is feeling better soon. Our forecast is calling for light snow on Sat.!!! Way too soon for that!

  7. Now that's my kind of dinner! YUM!! (of course, all your dinners are my kind of food but this one has a great combo of my favorites).
I make a lot of potato leek soup in the winter -- we're still in the 80s here.
