No rain this morning.
Just lots of pigeons. (They have been locked out of the indoor and need to find a new home).
I had an appointment to get my hair cut at 11, and dropped off some veggies at Sally's on the way.
When I tried to get a picture of Abbe sniffing them, she spooked and took off.
Jill had chore duty and Gary and I headed into Rochester.
The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra opened it's 2011-2012 season tonight at the Eastman Theater.
What a fabulous space.
The building was recently renovated and it looked spectacular.
I grabbed these shots before the concert started.
This night was extra special as Arild Remmereit was making his debut as the Music Director.
The Norwegian-born conductor made quite an impression!
There were three encores and several standing ovations. Arild knew how to get the audience to participate and had us wrapped around his little finger.
We were there tonight with the Scandinavian Heritage Society, and he met with us before we left.
Introduced himself to everyone, as did his wife. His Mother and Father were also there (from Norway).
He seems very interested in the community and hooked up with the School of the Arts (a Rochester High School) and had the students write poems which were then illustrated and made into post cards. Everyone in the audience received one or three... and one of the students read 2 of the poems to a packed house. What a great idea.
I predict the he is going to go over BIG. What a talented and humble man.
When we walked out of the building, there was all kinds of activity across the street. The night life in Rochester is amazing. This was the East End entertainment district and the music sounded great.
Home around 10:30. Such a nice evening.
Night all.

What a beautiful entrance to her home.
When I got back to the farm I hung 6 blankets on the fence, hopping that the rain over the next two days will start the cleaning process. When I tried to get a picture of Abbe sniffing them, she spooked and took off.
