WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT PICTURES OF FOOD? (Saturday)

 One more beautiful morning.
Jill was here for chores and Newbie joined us in the barn.
 Casey was here too.

Gary and I went down to the Morgan Manning House at 11:30 to help with a luncheon being held there.  Our community lost a much loved friend earlier this week and we were there to make sure everything was ready after the service.

SUNY Brockport has the top food service department in the entire state college system.  It is called Garnishes, and with short notice they were able to create a suitable spread for all those who were there to support the family.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of Lynn M.

Afterward, Gary met up with many friends that he went to college with....
They spent the afternoon together and ended up going out to dinner.

I, on the other hand, went home.  Kelly F. stopped up for peppers so she could get started on some sauce.  Somehow we ended up talking about my Journal and the conversation got around to Sharon Creech, who I have met through blogging.  Sharon (in case you don't know her) is an outstanding author...and has won the Newbery Medal for her book "Walk Two Moons."  You will get hooked on the first page.  Even tho it was written for young readers, all the adults I know who have read it....love it.   We will have the opportunity to meet her in person next week.  She just happens to be Kelly's favorite author and has read every single one of her books, using them in her classroom (teacher here in Brockport).  I have a feeling I will be taking along some books to get autographed.
Went out to do chores a little after 5.  It was VERY muggy, and Masterpiece chose to hangout in the run-in while his 3 buddies were out in the pasture.
At 6:15 I was finally ready to drive down to Alicia and Herb's for dinner.  Their son had a party last night....catered by the Dinosaur BBQ.  Too much food, and we got the leftovers.  I just got through saying we needed to start eating at home, and she called today to see if we were available.  Who could resist?
 Topper and Carol were there...
 Along with Deanna and Harry.

We sat outside until 10pm...perfect temperature.
Could not resist a few shots in the dark.

Oooops.  It's after midnight.
Night all.
