THIRD DAY IN A ROW....

I went out a little early and Barb was already through graining the ponies.
We talked a lot about her new barn and the pasture mate for King Mustafa while we were cleaning stalls.  Her name is Grace and she is a gigantic black mare with white socks.  Can't wait to see her.

A little cool...ended up around 80 today.

After chores I started mowing the lawn and Gary brought home Jen's push more so we could finish it.  Ours is at the repair shop...who knows when we will get it back...always something.

There was a free rabies (shot) clinic this afternoon in Clarkson.  I could not find Sid (he did not turn up until 9:30 tonight and missed breakfast too), but I did take Seymour, so he's set for the next 3 years.
There was a very long line when I got there, but it moved quickly.
At 3,  met with two people who are interested in stalls for their horses (when Mustafa leaves).  Both were great.  Can I really handle taking on 3 horses????or should I just take one? Not really interested in boarding, but would consider co-oping with someone who wants to try and fill Barb's shoes.

Tonight we were taken out to dinner by Carol and Topper.  We have been on some roll!
Drove out to their house on the lake....
The temperature was much cooler than it was here.
From there we went in to Charlotte...had reservations at Pier 45.
You have to take an elevator to get up to the restaurant.
For some reason Topper and Gary thought this was a humorous experience.  They are outrageous when they are together.

The atmosphere there is great.  It feels like a warehouse/loft in New York City (near the seaport).

You can eat inside or outside.
It's right across from the Rochester Yacht Club...a beautiful site.

We chose to eat inside.  Our server was the adorable Kristin.

Started off with a cup of soup...I had a cheddar cheese (outstanding), the others had clam chowder.

 Next, the house salad.
I had penne with chicken and mushrooms in a vodka sauce.
Gary and Carol had Strip Steaks...
 Topper had Blue Marlin.
Gap Mangione (quartet) was scheduled to play at 7pm and we had ringside seats.  Had no idea he was going to be there...what a treat.

Carol and Topper just ran into a friend of his at a Notre Dame Reunion...how ironic that he would be playing here tonight.
Another outstanding meal with good friends and fine music.
Home by 9:30 and ready to crash.  Drumming tomorrow!
Night all.

  1. I wish we had a free rabie shot clinic here. Lots of low income people in our area.

  2. Hmmmm, I don't think you could possibly ever find anyone to replace Barb. It seems that she went above and beyond, and that's not something a lot of people are willing to do.

  3. Oh no!!! I've lived vicariously through you and Barb, wishing I had my very own Barb here. What on earth are you going to do???

  4. Barb is leaving? Bummer! We have a boarder here -- our first time and doing it as a favor to our previous trainer. She's wonderful and Kalvin is wonderful but I don't think I'd want to be doing any more than this.
