Perfect temperature...blue skies.
Wake up Gucci...let's go out to the barn.
The ground has actually started to dry out.
The ponies needed their masks today...got very buggy.
After chores I ran a million errands...spent a little time finishing things up for the art opening, and got a couple of geraniums planted. Around 3:30 Jim, over at Shephard's Mill, called and said there was sawdust available...could I get there by 5.
I really needed a load.
I love the road I take on the way...those trees make it!
Jenny was joining us tonight and I decided to use up some of those beautiful eggs Janice's chickens produced for us.
Picked our first spinach and added it to some sauteed onions and tomatoes.
Here is what I ended up with.
It tasted great...breakfast for dinner.Getting late and we still had to unload the sawdust.
At 7:30 we finally got out to the barn.
Gary loves to work with Jen, and it helped me a lot.
Mustafa wanted no part of us and went into the indoor.
This reminded Jen of the old days, when she did chores on a regular basis.
We did the whole job in about 20 minutes.
The sun was going down...
and the light streaming into the barn made it look very mellow...peaceful....
Jen went out to brush the horses...they were being attacked by the bugs....
This should have been my SkyWatch picture for the day.
Decided to tuck the ponies in early.
Night all.
That road looks lovely and i woudn't mind eating that dish with ya!

Looks like a peaceful ending to a busy day.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! Your horses are gorgeous. Seems too early for fly masks, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteWhen I was reading your post, the thought 'all in a days work' crossed my mind--What a full day, but a rewarding one!

ReplyDeletePeaceful day, Lori! Thanks for bringing us along! That pie looks yummy! Too bad it's hot season over here, no plans of turning on the oven!!
ReplyDeleteDinner looks good...will have to try it.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, so enjoyed all your pictures. Lovely drive to pick up sawdust.
Looking forward to your Art Show!
