Several days of the same weather. Fine with me as long as the temperature is between 25 and 30.
Barb helped with chores...we were done early.
Even tho he has warm water in the run-in, the first thing Mustafa does when he comes back into the paddock is go for the heated water trough.
Got in the house early and decided to make sauce for tomorrow night's dinner. Company coming.
I wrote about this recipe a few days ago...here are the pictures to go with it.
Sauce ala Skoog Farm with sweet Italian poultry sausage and red peppers.
First I took the casing off the sausage. Then I diced three onions....
and a big clove of home grown garlic.
Put a little olive oil in a pan, then added the above items as well as some red peppers (I had frozen) from our garden. Sauteed.
Dumped in the sausage and crumbled it.
Grabbed two bags of our sauce (we froze over 50 bags) tomatoes, peppers, carrots, garlic and onions all from our garden. A quick sauce...very fresh.
Browned everything....
Added the sauce. A little sugar, fresh ground pepper, salt and 3 tablespoons of grated cheese (your choice).
Voila! Some of the best sauce you will ever taste...guaranteeeeed. By tomorrow night the flavors will be even better.
We grabbed a bite for lunch and then I went to the college for drumming.
There were only 9 of us today, but it was a great session. I actually comprehended what we were doing.
Khalid is a very patient man! We played for three hours and fifteen minutes. That's a very long time!
That late afternoon sun finally appeared.
Barb had chore duty tonight and we are going out for dinner....birthday dinner for a friend.
Janice is an outstanding cook, so I may have to get some shots of her food. Later.
A 91 year old man made this sweet card for Madhu, who was 80 years old today. Everyone signed it.
The place was packed! There must have been at least 50 people.
Dinner for that many is no easy feat, but they sure did a great job. Chicken and biscuit regular or vegetarian...
A fabulous salad...
and some crusty bread.
Madhu is a Professor at the University of Rochester and is still teaching.
He had a very Happy Birthday.
and we had some great desserts.
Night all.
Warmer temperatures sure make everything nicer and a lot more tolerable. It does wonders for the mood. Hope you had and enjoyable birthday dinner with your friends.
