I can't remember when the sky was so beautiful in the early morning. Today, we have broken out of the grey mode. Thought I would post these shots and come back later to finish.
And now for part II
I introduced you to Claire, who is visiting from Spain....when she and her Mom (Deb) stopped up to the farm. Today 14 of us went out to the Carlton Grill for lunch so she could try one of our favorite restaurants.
She, Topper, Janice and I took many pictures.
After listening to the specials, half ordered the pastrami sandwich with some of those homemade fries (crispy).
Deb and Tom are Claire's parents.
You already know Carol and have seen at least 25 pictures like the one below....Topper taking a picture of me taking a picture of him.
At the beginning, we had the whole place to ourselves.
There's nothing like good friends and food....all in the same place at the same time.
I'm sure Claire has documented her visit well. What a pleasure to have met her! Sorry there has not been more time to spend together. She is right up my alley.
If I ever get any of you to visit this neck of the woods, we are going to the Carlton.
Chef Steve appreciates our visits and takes good care of us.
We all talked a mile a minute....
Tom had to leave early for a piano lesson and Topper went to Medina, so we drove Carol home.
You've been here before too. I took tons of photos when Helen was visiting from Scotland and another time when we were there with Jenny and the boys. Remember? Boating, swimming....trying out the new kayak? They have grass showing and we still have a few inches of snow. The temperature was in the low 40s today, so ours will melt if we are lucky. Tomorrow 48 and Saturday 53. We shall see.
This is what the beach looked like today.
Lake Ontario is very deep and never freezes over.
Below is a piece of art created by the waves and ice on the sand. |
Home in time to relax a little before doing chores. It was a beautiful evening but I did not have the energy to take my camera back out.
So that's it for now....Night all.
Such a beautiful sky !
ReplyDeleteAnd a wonderful picture of L'Orange.
May I use it to make a puzzle ?
Last week we were in Paris. The weather was cold. We visited the Orangerie museum.
I thought about you for it is an art museum and because of the name of your cat.
We saw Renoir's, Rousseau's, Soutine's, Picasso's, Laurencin's, Derain's painting. And of course the "Nympheas" of Monet.
I'm afraid I'm forgetting painter's names.
I did not know much Soutine's paintings. I did not think he was so tormented. I did not like much his paintings but I realize I have not forgotten them at all, probably because they were very expressive.
See you soon
Phyto
Just beautiful!

A little bit of sunshine certainly makes a big difference. Looks like you and the critters are getting full enjoyment of it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful, beautiful: the sky, the animals, the gloves set aside . . . We still have clouds here today; thank you for the sun.
ReplyDeleteWe're on the same wave-length, I also noticed and took pictures of the sunrise this morning--But you have much more beautiful things to take pictures of than I did! Hope your day is going well!
ReplyDeleteOh Lori
ReplyDeleteI wish I could bare your chilly cold for a tad of the beautiful blue and bright! So happy you broke out!
I'm goin down here...low and slow and bummed..too grey it is.No sleeping for lack of light in me.
Thanks for the uplifting shots!!
I absolutley love the 4th one down..frosty trees across the fenceline...very cool!
I'll be back for more living brightly through you!

What a lovely morning!!! We've suddenly hit a mild spell here. Temperature's been around 45 degrees for the last twenty four hours, which is grand; but I've just been talking to my brother (who's about seventy miles west of us), and it's still well below freezing there. Hope it soon warms up for you.
ReplyDeleteRegards, Mike and Ann.
Yes this is very very beautiful :)
ReplyDeletethe second to last photo is sweet....love the house!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh, Lori...isn't it wonderful what the sun does for the mind and body. The kitties are all basking in the energy. L'Orange looks like he is waking up to it's reality. Wonderful pictures! The weatherman seems to be predicting sun on and off for the coming week! Good way to begin a new year...2011!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos again. We actually had some blue sky today too for a change. Hope it does warm up a little.
ReplyDeleteThose beach pictures are so peaceful. I love the water and that sand picture is so unusual, it needs to be painted or showcased in a frame.
Have a nice relaxing night.
So sorry we missed the Grill but it was Jim's birthday and we were having dinner guests-----I spent the day cooking---Looks like a lot of fun and great food----Sara
ReplyDeleteLooks like all had a wonderful time. I like the pink sky pics best of all.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful pictures of the lake. They remind me the sea side in Camargue where there are fences to stop the sand.
ReplyDeleteThank you for allowing me to take your pictures to make puzzles.
I'll tell you when one is published.
About the Orangerie museum, I found this adress :

If you click on the pictures you can see the rooms. But I'm sorry I did not find explanations in English.
The visit was nice for it is not a big museum, so you can take time to sit and look at the paintings. (Often, when one is in a big museum, one wants to see everything because one knows one won't come back soon and so one hurries and the visit becomes tiring.)
Now we're preparing the New Year meal, looking for recipes on the web because we do not cook often langoustines.
Have a happy New Year !
