BACK TO NORMAL...YEY!

Ahhhhhhhhhh....sunrise.

and I felt good this morning.

Out and in...Gucci and Phoebe lasted for their usual 10 minutes and were ready to go back to the house.

When I opened the door, the light was doing it's drama thing in the kitchen.

The dogs immediately went over to the couch so they could continue with their chipmunk watch.

Earlier in the winter, they would stay with me the whole time I was doing chores. Are they turning into softies?

The sun was bright and snow started falling.

Fed the horses in the front paddock.

Before too long the sun was on them.

Solar heat is good...

They might even play a little basketball today!

The wind picked up after lunch....just when I took the dogs out for a romp.

I was not terribly productive today. Went down to Tractor Supply for some shavings and pellets, then headed out to buy an external hard drive for my computer. In the past two years I have taken over 40,000 pictures and they are all on disks. No more.

Super Bowl leftovers for dinner, so I did not have do make anything before going out to do evening chores. Got everything set up and let the horses in before I picked the paddock and pasture. I do believe they enjoy their fluffy stalls.

At 5:45 it was still very light...I think we got up above the mid twenties today. I'll take it.

By next week it will be light at 6. Won't that be grand?

Chili for dinner....with cornbread.

A pretty quiet day. Horses and dogs....dogs and horses. Pretty boring, huh? For now, I'm outahere. Night all.

  1. I love all your pictures. And those dogs couldn't be more adorable, how do you stand it, they must be spoiled rotten with those cute mugs. I just want to give them a big hug.

I like the symbol on the sidebar. Good thinking. I'll get to that tomorrow.

  2. Glad you're feeling better today - and the light was lovely - here as well before the snow we're expecting tomorrow.

  3. Boring sounds good considering how hectic your days usually look. It was probably a nice breather.

  5. Glad you're feeling better, Lori. Your photos are always stunning. Hubby bought me a hard drive in October. I moved everything onto it and three months later I have another glut of photos and documents. Need to do it again. Enjoy yours.

  7. Boy, I miss a few days with you and it feels like a month! :-) Loved the snow pictures and especially the basketball goal shot. The wood texture there is beautiful!

  8. Mid-twenties? Looking at the pups leaping through the snow makes me think they'd be great and have a ball on the sand at our beaches. It's on about 60 but their energy level would soar. Even their mom and dad would be good rolling through the dunes and watching one of our sunsets. But, chipmunks. Better change that to squirrels and seagulls. Or, the slow moving egret that will not move out of the way of our car.

    Your chili looks soooo good!!

  9. Wonderful pictures as always. I love the 10th one of your horses, it reminds me of Push Me Pull You from Dr. Dolittle.
    Enjoy your day.

  10. There is nothing at all boring about horses and dogs. :) I'm happy to find someone else who takes as many (or perhaps way more) pictures than I do!! When I tell people I can take five hundred or more pictures in a day they think I'm crazy lol. :)

  12. I have a request: can you do another video of the ponies coming in for the night? I just love it when they do that so politely and orderly...one day my herd will be together and act all polite like that :)

  13. I like 'boring' too. Horses and dogs sound like a great way to spend the day. And your day was gorgeous!
The sky, the light! Those first two photos blew me away.
I also enjoyed the action shots of Phoebe and Gucci, too. hehe!

  14. Oh! And I almost forgot to ask. I've done no research yet and am hoping you might have some recommendation on hard drives to buy. As you can imagine I, too have thousands of photos kept on my laptop and I need to get them in a better place. I've been wanting an external hard drive, too.
Let me know how you like the one you bought, please?
