STILL MELTING....

What a blah morning. Relatively mild and a dull grey. The first thing I did when I got outside... was to get some fresh water going into the water trough. The hose had defrosted and it was a perfect opportunity. I have to do it slowly or the well pump shuts off.

How's that for one ugly paddock.

We are into some premature mud....

After they ate their hay, the ponies went out to the back pasture and nibbled on what they viewed as grass.

Gary helped me with chores and we were done before 9.

When I got in the house I decided to make a one crust apple pie.

Around 1:30 Jenny and the kids came up for some outside time.

But first they wanted to watch a little football. Coop found the Viking helmut.

Seeing that Finn had on his Vikings (Brett F.) football jersey he thought it would be fun to try it on.

Then it was Mom's turn.

While the adults had pie, the kids preferred ice cream.

A yummy afternoon treat.

Coop and Finn both did a little coloring.

The subject for today was houses.

I have a closet full of art supplies, and they frequently draw or paint when they are at the farm.

Grampa did a couple of push ups with Coop on his back and Finn said he could do it too!

The pups got curious when the crew went outside at half-time. What the heck were they doing???

Within about 10 minutes they had a snow man going.

Look at that! Green grass and a snowman....

Taaa Daaaaaaaa.............

While we got ready to go to a movie with Randy and Arlene, the kids continued to play in the snow.

Will there be any snow left tomorrow?

During the drive into the movie theater, we passed a whole group of boys playing football.
They must have been psyched about the weather.

The film started at 4.

We saw "Up in the Air" with George Clooney. A little slow at the beginning, but I ended up liking it very much.

Justine did chores tonight. We got home around 6:30 and when we let the dogs out they started barking at the snow man...

It's only 8pm and I'm all done for today. Night all.

  1. I was reading your profile, and is interested in your organic garlic farm.

I use a lot of garlic in my cooking, and I also taking a garlic supplement everyday.

  2. Vikings fans? Hmmm...

I hope our snow doesn't end up looking as gone as yours does. Our temps have been in the upper 30s but so far the snow is still pretty good. It's been nice being able to unplug the tank heater during the day though.

  5. We were cheering on the Vikings today as well. My boys would be out there building snowmen and then playing football. I like to be in where it is warm!! I should take my husband on a date to the movies. Would be nice.

  6. That apple pie looks scrumptious. I could just manage a pice right now. No No I'm trying to lose weight. Your grandsons are so cute and so too their snowman. Another busy day on the farm. We went to the movies yesterday and saw Bran Nue Dae. A low budget Aussie movie filmed in Broome Western Australia where we went on hols last year.

  7. That was a full day, but it sounds like so much fun. I wish I had grandchildren. I live in MN, so you know how much purple fever there is around here right now. I am not one of the fans, but you can't escape it!

The pie looks so good. I'm trying to drop the 30 lb's I found last year. But the pie looks so good!

  8. Snow for the kids, less so for the horses. I hear rain on our skylights, so our system is moving thru today. By the weekend, it will be yours!
