Not to0 bad this morning either! When there is no wind, I can handle it.
We did get more snow last night...
I keep an area open in the front paddock so I can get the wheel barrows in and out...it's also easier to pick the manure that way.
Nothing unusual during chores....
Dream is hanging out with the others more each day.
We had blue sky for the first time in ages...it lasted for about 15 minutes.
Then we switched over to this look...the sun was really trying....
I'd say we reached about 20 degrees today.
Don't these photos look silver?
Gary went over to Higbies to buy a new pair of Muck Boots and I made a quick run to Wegmans.
Yes, the dogs rode along.
As soon as they get home they want to chase whatever they can find in the back yard....
Then, they are finally ready to come in and relax.
There was a terrible fire in one of the student houses down town...fortunately it was between sessions and they did not get hurt. The bad news...they lost everything. So today, I went up into our loft and collected a lot of kitchen items for them. It took us 2 hours to wash everything and make it presentable. Glasses, mugs, pots and pans, bowls, silverware etc. Hopefully they will pick it up tomorrow.
Last night I went to bed early, slept like a log, and this afternoon I was so tired I could have fallen asleep around 3:30.
Went out to do chores and it was not quite dark yet. Have you noticed that it is staying light longer?
When I finished up, I remembered to go out and get the mail.
It was about 5:20 and it was fairly dark....still, an improvement.
Dinner? I threw some leftover (frozen) Swedish Meatballs in the oven.
Made a salad with apples, pears, romaine, gorganzola and Italian dressing....
Put everything together, and we had a simple supper.
I think I will try to go to bed early again.
By the way, on the weather this morning, it said it was 30 something below 0 in Minnesota without the wind chill...and Frank said it was only 31 in Tampa, Florida. I wonder how things are going for Maery Rose and her ponies.
That's it. Night all.
I feel compelled to express how grateful I am for your blog. It is a doorway into a very beautiful world, and I appreciate it. Also, it's fabulous how you help those you just need a hand. Finally, really like the light in the eyes of the horses in your series of photos. Be well!
ReplyDeleteLori-I have figured out what it is about Dream that melts my heart: her eyes...they seem like they could look straight into your soul. Oh my...that second picture of her staring into the camera really got to me! Thanks for posting some more pictures of my Dream girl! Sue
ReplyDeleteNice blog! All the food pics are making me want some!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos...and glad I am not there at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI am not a lover of winter.
We didn't have the snow, that's coming tonight into tomorrow, but it's very cold here too. Thankfully, the wind has died down.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Dream is starting to fit in with the others. I did like your silver pictures, very nice. Love those cute faces on the dogs, how can you stand them they are just too adorable. I'd have to hug them all day long.
It is a bit lighter at night - but the mornings are still so dark. Glad Dream continues to settle in, and good for you for helping the people who lost everything in the fire!
ReplyDeleteNice supper ! It seems very good.
ReplyDeleteHere we had a fish soup, after a piece of cheese (camembert, gouda, goat bush and white cheese) and a fruit (orange, apple, kiwi, or dates)
And after, look at the lessons once more with the kids and they go to bed.
See you soon
Your dinners look tasty. I haven't really cooked much of anything in the new year. Guess I'd better get it together. Glad the weather is nicer.
