This was the color of the morning...not too exciting.
Chores were not out of the ordinary...Gucci and Phoebe looked for the cat and Gary helped me with stalls.
Around 9:15 we left for Java Junction....Jenny was going to meet us there. The dogs really wanted to go.
It was pretty busy this morning!
Lots of chatter...Gary and Jenny had coffee and a bagel.
I had oj and French Toast.
We sat with Spud.
After Gary finished his coffee, I bought half a dozen Palmiers to go. The best flavor and so light.
Just when we were going out the door, some friends were coming in.
Gary, Bill, Hanny and Jen. Jen and Hanny worked together for 7 years in Congressman John LaFalces office...she is her second mother.
Around 1, Courtney and Christy came over. They look like sisters, but Christy is the Mom. She and Jenny were in Pony Club together and is one of the few people I would allow to ride our horses (she has ridden them all at one time or another). Courtney is working on an application for SUNY College at Brockport and came over for some advise regarding her essay. Gary was in Admissions for 15 years so he was a good resource person for her.
Hopefully Christy will come over soon when she has time to ride.
Darrin got here a little after 2 to ride Winnie.
Between the barns, I had to get in some self portraits...the sun was finally out.
After Winnie was lounged, I brought in Abbe.
There's not a whole lot to see from the back of a horse.
The sun started to go down....
Trina came up to do chores.
By the way, I think the temperature went up to 50 or so today. We are supposed to be in the high 30s....I'll take the mildness as a bonus.
I guess you are just stuck with my sky photos...
Now that Gayle (up in Alaska) is finally posting some of her gorgeous meals, I have to continue giving her some competition.
Tonight I made a casserole that has no name.
First I sauted onions and sliced turkey kilbasa. While that was going on, I simmered some sauerkraut. Added that to the onions and sausage...put on a little vinegar and brown sugar.
Then, I prepared some noodles...put everything together with some cream of mushroom soup and sour cream and threw it in the oven so the flavors could blend. Cut up two big apples and fried them in a little butter, added some brown sugar to carmelize them. Served all this with some great pumpernickel bread and strawberry jam. More comfort food.
A pretty low profile day...the highlight was working with Glen Aberlour. Night all.
Your skies look a lot like ours did today. My friends suggested I mount a camera on my horse's head to get a different camera viewpoint on horseback rather than just the back of a horse head. Somehow I don't think Luke would go for that.
ReplyDeleteI should stop reading your posts at dinner time. I'm hungry and start to drool over your dinners. Its great to meet up with friends, shame they weren't a bit earlier and you could have had coffee together. Great shots of the horses and your shadow as well as the sky pics too.
ReplyDeleteOur daughter and her celebrity partner featured in a magazine today. We are chuffed. See here:

What a lovely day! Love the noses and the shadows!
ReplyDeleteWow, just look at those ponies in the paddock: fat and happy! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI love your shadow pics. ooks like you had some fun taking them, just like I did the other day for Sunday Stills. Horses are beautiful in so many way...even in their shadows, eh?
I've got to try your kielbasa recipe. It sounds so easy, yet so delicious! I know even my kidlets would like it.
