WHAT IS A GARBAGE PLATE?

In this neck of the woods a garbage plate contains a couple of hot dogs, baked beans and macaroni salad (some places add other things) topped with a sauce over everything. One more example of comfort food. There are many restaurants and diners that offer this in Brockport and Rochester. It is usually reasonably priced and the college kids love it.

    Lori, I'd never heard of a garbage plate before but it sounds very interesting indeed ! I also simply love the plate you posted a photo of .... love that blue !

    Love the plate, not so sure about the garbage plate part. You had me right up to the sauce over everything.

    Hahahaha! The Delph colors caught my attention, love blue and white pottery. The description of the garbage plate- now that is right up my husbands alley!!!
