THE SAVING GRACE....

The roofing crew was on site at 6am. I got up around 6:45 and Daniela was downstairs and ready for breakfast.

It did not take very long for them to roll on the titanium paper....

Fortunately there was a cloud cover and the morning was considerably cooler than it was yesterday.

When the roof was covered on both sides....

I was just finishing up chores.

Soon they were putting on the steel panels. The company custom cuts them for the barn so there is no messing around other than screwing them to the plywood that was already on the roof.

Six men were working today...

Two men walked the panels up the ladders and two were on the roof waiting to take them.

Each panel weighs 75 or 80 pounds.

Before I knew it, it was 10:30 and time for class. Tina is now working on her acrylic painting of DJ and Eldorado.

While all this was going on, Steph and the girls were down at Jen's house.

They all came up to the farm for lunch....

Which we ate out on the porch.

These four cousins love to be together.

And they get along with each other very well.

Each one wanted something different for lunch....

Sisters....

When I got ready to pick up Gary and get over to Christina's World they were working on the second side of the barn roof.

This is the saving grace part. The pool brings instant happiness to those who are suffering with the heat. The sun came out just in time, and the water temperature was 83.

Except for Cooper, the rest of the crew can swim.

They all took turns going off the diving board....

Canon ball!!!!

Tina has beautiful gardens....

and her living room is out of Architectural Digest....

DJ was happy to model for me....

She is the owner of a beautiful painting by local artist, Betty Eksten. It has special meaning to me, as this horse, "My Duv" was the Dam of Marieke (who was the Dam of my current horse Berlin).

When we got home, they were ready to put on the last two panels.

The back forty was looking particularly good...

Here is the finished product minus the trim.

All were here for a late taco dinner, some Scrabble (Mike) and drawing pictures. Now it is time for some rest. Night all!
