VIVA LAS VEGAS......

On Thursday, we left the house at 9am and headed out to the Bass Pro Shop.  Because I have never been to one, it was quite an amazing experience.
First I bought some new Crocs (which I returned on Sunday)...Then tried on a sweater and bought a shirt for Gar.
They had displays all over the place....Cats....
Moose....
...A gigantic aquarium and much more.
Then we headed down to the Strip.  These are the two towers Joe is working on and the reason they moved to Las Vegas.
As Steph says, "this is fantasy land."  Each new construction tries to outdo the one next to it.

Everything is M A S S I V E.....

Attention horse people!  The casino on the left is South Point and it hosts many major horse events.  They have a huge indoor arena and lots of stalls.
Steph pulled the car into the Venetian and that is where an adventure began...
There is a canal inside and you can take a ride in a gondola...often opera style singing takes place.

In one section there is a plaza...the ceiling is painted like a sky.  While we were there a pigeon got into the building and was flying around.

I looked over at this statue, when Steph asked Ariana to put a dollar bill at the foot of her robe.
She began to move and drew the girls to her with very soft, beckoning hand movements.  She does this all day long (makes lots of money) and people have their pictures taken with her.
Here you can see the canal going through the plaza.
Another section is full of hanging umbrellas and flower gardens.
I had the girls pose for me in front of some of the stores (all of which were very upscale).
This horse sculpture served as the door knob on one of the doors.
The windows were all put together very creatively.
Everything from blown glass...
to diamonds....

Then we were off to "Paris" to have lunch.

Of course there are casinos in every building on and off the Strip.

We had lunch outside on a patio at Mon Ami Gabi...Outstanding!!!
The restaurant was beautiful inside and out.  Understated and very European.
There were several streets of shops and restaurants.

We checked out a pastry shop where Daniela got some ice cream.
And that was just the first day!

  1. Isn't the Bass Pro Shop awesome?! I went to one in Denver a few years back. Loved it! Ahh, a shot of Treaure Island...I've stayed there (also the Luxor and Excalibur). I love the umbrella idea. Very creative and intriguing. Looks like you saw the sights!
