SIDE TRIPS....

Steph had to work on Sunday, so Joe and the kids took me out for some site seeing.  First we went to Silverton (back to the Bass shop) then headed out to Red Rock Canyon.  There was a lot of activity on and off this highway.

There were many bikers, lots of rest areas and horse trailers parked all along the way.

We headed out toward Mr. Charleston...one of the only places in the immediate area that still has snow.

The elevation in Las Vegas is around 2000 feet and at the top of the mountain it was near 8000.  Just before we got to the ski area we came across this little church.

There was also a very interesting Inn.
At the end of the road, there was a parking lot where you could leave your car and go hiking. The trails were all sand and stone.
You could not ask for a more beautiful sky.

There are many million dollar houses in this area.
At the bottom of the mountain it was 87 degrees and at the top it was 61.
More later....have to go buy some groceries for our empty refrigerator.

  1. Isn't it fun to explore new places? Looks like a beautiful place for a hike.
