A BRIGHT, SUNSHINIE DAY....

This photo was taken by Ree Drummond (The Pioneer Woman...see link).  All of these mustangs live on her ranch and are taken care of in a partnership with the government.  Check her site...she is a great photographer and writer.
Meanwhile back at the Skoog Ranch....it was a crisp morning, under 10 degrees.
The sun came through a south window in the kitchen, creating shadows on the side of a cupboard.

Solar rays made it much more comfortable for the ponies.

When the snow melts, the horses will get back to using their backboard.

Today I let Gucci go off leash for the first time.  She and Phoebe loved the opportunity to play
outside the fence.
Tuesday....Skoog Farm Workshop Day.  Joan was the first to arrive and fell in love with Mademoiselle Gucci (Poochie) 'Lizebet Skoog.  A great portrait of both.  After a brief "dog talk" we moved into the studio and everyone got to work.  Except for Sandy (pastel wolf) and Tina (colored pencil Izzy on the couch), all the rest are working on watercolors without drawing first.  It has really been effective and has enabled them to work in a looser fashion.

  1. This is going to Phoebe a chance to get some added exercise.

  2. your photos of the Sheltie were special to me.
My family had a Sheltie named Patrick (this is the name of the boy my daughter had a crush on in, get this--kindergarten!). He was the sweetest, most patient dog in all the world. He dies last year, and we still miss him.
I love your photo posts. Keep em coming!
