I turned Winnie out with all of the horses while I picked 3 pastures and could keep an eye on her.
Target dominated and kept Masterpiece away. Several of the horses kept going back into the water and were pawing... for the most part it was a very peaceful blend. Notice the pristine blankets....
I wish we had been there to see that. She did that once at a horse show. She's silly. I can tell she was washing herself and her blanket of course.
ReplyDeleteReally, the more I read your blog the more I realize the size of those animals and just how impressive they are. What if a "fight" would have broke out? What could you have done? And why do they paw in the water? I would have guessed they would avoid it (and I would have been wrong!).
ReplyDeleteLori, I wanted to comment on what Gayle said about the horses pawing in the water. I saw a program on television that was talking about horses in the wild. I learned that the horses paw because they are stirring up the minerals in the water before they take a drink, I guess its a natural instinct. Horses are so intelligent. Christy Q
