Every morning is pretty much the same routine...soak the beet pulp, let out the dog, feed the cat, go out to the barn (pick up a wheel barrow on the way), measure out the grain, add supplements, ladle out beet pulp, add soaked hay cubes, use big screw driver to split apples in half, put 1 small apple in each feed bucket (we will have apples from August through the end of December), dump into feeders, start picking stalls, clean out feed buckets, put out hay, open pasture they will be in today, if sunny/warm...put on their masks, finish picking stalls, check water buckets, sweep down the aisle and feed room, do any extras (this morning I picked the indoor...their favorite bathroom in the evening and threw down a couple of bales of second cutting from the loft). These are some of the things I see as I am doing all this. The outdoor ring looks great, all nice and rototilled...the line in the indoor is from me dragging around a muck bucket. You need a good scrub brush when you clean out a water trough...blah...blah...blah... By the way, the weather for today is overcast with spitting rain off and on....we need a good shower.

ReplyDeleteAnother nice tour! You are right, horsewomen are strong! :-)
ReplyDeleteLooking for rain? It's on it's way up the coast. Hope some reaches you.
That's a great post. Interesting to see what you see as you start your day. It would be fun to try and do that on Monday...although I'm not such a morning person so I grumpily struggle through the first couple hours!
