THE BAHAMAS ARE A LONG WAY FROM CLEVELAND!

Last summer, this sailboat stopped in Brockport for several days.  The couple was traveling with their dog, Hatch, had left Ohio, got into the Canal, and were going to work their way south. We started talking and I found out that the woman was also a retired art teacher.  The next day we dropped off fresh veggies from our garden and got to know them a little better.
They worked their way down to New York City and spent quite a bit of time near Annapolis. In order to get insurance, they could not go past a certain point in the Carolinas until the hurricane season was over.  Several of their friends were also making the trip.  Imagine the equipment that was used to get the masts up. As you can see, this is some sailboat.  Maybe we will catch them again on their way home...they planned to be gone for a year.
