A Visit from the Farrier
At 1pm our farrier, John Walther, arrived to trim three horses. Shenna (age 36), Joe (age 31) and Pony (age 28). The two older ones are quite a challenge, as at times it is difficult for them to balance themselves when one foot is off the ground. This is due to some arthritis that tends to develop with age. Today they were both great! Pony will always look 5 years old and she has beautiful feet. Fortunately, John (who is a retired mounted policeman from Rochester) has a great love for horses and recognizes the special needs that come with age.
