What's His Name Going to Be?

Quite a day!

Rebel was waiting for me this morning.

He had no bute and his foot was not wrapped.

Mid morning I drove out to Glen Darach Farm to see Andrea's 2 day old foal.  He does not have a name yet as she is trying to see what suits him.  He was born in the middle of the night on Tuesday and weighed 136 pounds!  His Mom, Polly, is a fabulous Percheron and she is a real pro.

This sweet boy was very comfortable approaching me and would let me touch his face.  Polly was ok with it.

I can't wait to watch him grow and really appreciate the vibe at Andrea's farm that encourages both of them to be very comfortable and trusting.
Took it easy this afternoon and Jenny did evening chores so Gary and I could go to an Event at the College.

We attended the President's Donor Recognition Celebration.  There were around 150 people there that have made contributions to the college in various way.  Millions of dollars.

Gary has been a donor for 19 years.

It was held in the newly remodeled ballroom.
We started off with drinks and appetizers....

and were welcomed by the university President.  Heidi has brought all kinds of goodness since she arrived 10 years ago.

The dinner was fabulous!  A nice salad and filets with roasted vegetables.  The best I have ever eaten.  And the sauce!!!!  Ooooooo la la!
Many different desserts.

After dessert, Mike Andriatch spoke and then many people were recognized for their donations.  The range was from $1,000 with several in the $250.000-500,000 category.  Pretty impressive.
Our friend, Jacquie Davis, was the featured Donor Speaker.  You know her from Gary's Summer Serenades Committee.  She was in the Dance Department for decades and has given major support in so many ways.

I'm so glad we were part of this amazing evening.
Night all.

78 Degrees!

Up at 6.

The boys are no longer getting hay in the morning and went straight out to the pasture.  Rebel was moving very well.  (He still had the duct tape boot on).

It heated up very quickly.

That called for more water.
At 1 I was t the library for bridge.  There was a book sale going on and it was very busy.
On the way home I grabbed a couple shots of blossoms.  Prime time for so many trees.

Home around 4:30.
Had leftovers for dinner and went out to tuck in the boys at 7:30.

I took off Rebel's boot and will see how he is doing in the morning.

Such good light.

Night all.
