THE SWIMMER....

Tonight my brother sent some pictures of their first grandchild...his name is Berke.  Mom and Dad are Katie (our niece) and Greg. They went to Florida recently, and as you can see, he loved the water.  He is only 6 months old!  I'm impressed....

THE REMAINS OF THE POOL AREA...

Finn and the Coop d'ville came up with Kevin today to let off a little steam.  As you can see, the pool does not look like it did last year.  They are going to miss it as much as I will.

DRIVING BY

Another example of Brockport architecture.

FROM TINA'S ALBUM...

Very early this morning I received a series of photographs from Tina.  She and her dog DJ are responsible for the creation of the Reading Dog program at the elementary school we visit. Yesterday we were given a copy of the book that was made for the children along with the results from the first day we started to the last and there was a great deal of improvement.
When you talk to someone about Reading Dogs, the first thing they say is "your dog reads" (ha ha).  By the time you explain it, they think all schools should give children this opportunity...it really works.

FILLING IN THE POOL

This morning a 35 ton truck arrived with the first load of fill for our pool.  He added four more loads by 3pm, and a local farmer brought over a front loader to push it in.  On Monday we will get one or two more loads and the job will be done.  No longer a gaping hole in the yard.  I will really miss cooling off on those hot summer days.

READING DOGS GREAT AND SMALL...

Today we concluded our reading program for the year.  The five dogs and 20 children got together in one room for a farewell meeting.  Lynn Short, who facilitated this program, presented each child with a book about the dogs.  Another good experience.

REHEARSAL....

This morning the chorus had another practice at the site of our concert (tonight at 7) where I took these photos.

Just got home from the performance and  am happy to report that we had a full house and felt very appreciated.  Hopefully someone took photos.  Gary and I joined this group last September and concur that music is good for the soul.  You feel good, seeing people in this age range pull together to produce something that is so sweet!  Of course it would never happen without our director, who is a first class professional with a special sense of humor.
I am quite amazed by what she gets out of us. If you are lucky (ha ha) I may figure out how to put a recording on this site.

MORE SELF PORTRAITS

What did I do this morning?  Can you figure it out?

ABBE, CHRISTY AND ROY

Today Christy came over to ride Abbe, and her Uncle Roy was here to work with both of them.
