The Longest Post In Captivity....

A very busy day.
So cold this morning....Phoebe did not last in the barn for 15 minutes.

I could not complain about the sunrise.

After chores I picked up my friend Donna, and we went over to Sara's
to work on centerpieces for the Winter Gala 2018, being held in
Rochester tomorrow night (SUNY Brockport event).
This years arrangements were much easier than last years.

With Kathy's help, it only took a little over an hour to create about
45 pieces.  Then they all got carefully loaded in Barbara's car and
were driven to the Convention Center.
Donna, Hanny and I meandered into the shop to see what we could see.
Kathy always outdoes herself with the decorating and the selection of plants,
decorations and gifts is out of this world.

 (I want one of these)

We are going there tomorrow to get a Christmas tree for Jenny
and will also do a family photoshoot!  No better place to look like Christmas.
This afternoon Gary went to Agape and I continued putting things away
or throwing them out.  4 boxes of books (mainly cookbooks) are on
the way to the library.
I don't think the temperature got above the mid twenties.
So glad the sun was out.

Fortunately I have been able to get more organized in the kitchen.
Not quite done yet, but getting there.
At 4:30 we left for Rochester to have dinner at Nosh.
Jenny and Scott had given us a gift certificate last year
and we finally took advantage of it.
The atmosphere was terrific, but I could not
get good photos because of the light and did not want to use a flash.
We each ordered a salad and a wood fired pizza.

If we had known what we were doing, we could have split one salad (they are huge)
and one pizza.  Needless to say, we took half of the pizza home.
We loved everything about this restaurant.
The food, presentation, atmosphere and service.

 One more place to go.
The Rochester Contemporary Art Center was holding it's 28th Members Exhibition.
The entire place was packed, and there were nearly 400 pieces on display.
Here are a few of the ones that caught my eye.

Most of you have seen the sculpture collection we have...
created by our good friend Bill Stewart.
This is what he put in the show tonight.  Love it!!!

This is the Director of the Art Center.
Blue.  He did a great job, putting this show together.

Several of our friends were there.
One of the reasons we went to this opening, was to see work done by several
migrant workers in our area.  We went upstairs and looked at a couple
studios first....

then we found what we were looking for.
Gary is involved with a National Committee regarding Migrant Health and in late
spring a conference will be held in Brockport.  When he heard about this display,
he wanted to get more information so they could be part of the conference.

Julia is one of the Art Teachers who put this together.

Here are a few more pieces from the studios.

And finally, the Liberty Poll as photographed via my rear view
mirror when we were leaving.
Anyone who was able to get through this entire post is capable of
participating in a marathon!
I'm done.

Night all.

You weren't kidding when you said it was a long post! You really had a busy day. Beautiful flowers and decorations and great artwork. You deserve a good nights sleep!

Wow! I love the artwork! That colorful piece really caught my eye.
We were at zero yesterday morning at chore time. I had thought that Charlie would get cold but he seemed so at ease with the temperature.

It may be a long blog entry Lori, but it's a fascinating one, incredibly well illustrated; and, being from 'furrin parts', makes me feel very cosmoplitan. Warm regards to you both; Mike and Ann.

Wow, Lori, this is really a fun post - I don't even know what to say is a favorite, I know that the cold is my least one though! :-) But what a fun, full and truly memorable day with so many new and great memories!
