Tax Time...

There was a lot of melting going on last night.

By tomorrow morning there will be another lake in the back pasture.
There was no lollygaggin' with chores this morning as we had to be in Hilton by 10
to have our taxes done.

Afterward we went over to one of the local restaurants and had open steak sandwiches
with peppers and onions.  I was not that impressed.
As you can see, most of the snow is gone...but the ice on the canal is still there.
We got home at 1:30 and I shredded some paper for the stalls and took a nap.
We did not need much for dinner, so I defrosted some corn chowder
and had it with a bagel.
As for the horrific shooting in Florida...
I can't keep my mouth shut on this one.
It is difficult to believe that anyone in any political party would be against taking some long overdue action prohibiting the sale of weapons (used for killing in a war situation) to private citizens.  What is it going to take?  To think that government officials can be bought over something that has had such horrific consequences is an extremely sad commentary on the state of our country.  What if those who have received $$$$ had a child that was killed?  Would that get their attention?
It's time for all of us to stand up.
How lucky am I?  Not to have had this happen to my family or someone I know.
It's difficult to imagine how our children and grandchildren feel about going to a school,
or a church, or a concert or......

Now, I can go out by the fire and watch the Olympics
while all these families are at a vigil.
This is all so wrong.
Night all.

I agree with you about the gun situation. Something must be done. The politicians should be ashamed of themselves for this situation. All for the greed of donations from the NRA. Who basically control how they vote on gun issues. They’re all to blame for these shootings and I’ve had enough.

I agree with you on the gun issue and as an attorney this has got to stop. I could say more but perhaps I should just say that the puplic does not need automatic weapons. At least start with ceasing the sale of those.

I agree with you on the gun situation. I even argued with someone I love dearly about the NRA. I mean we got to the point of not speaking with each other! I am frustrated and upset and angry. We do NOT need automatic weapons like this. Period.
