A Celebration for Woody

 6am.
 7am.
 7:45am.

At 10am Gary and I headed to Albion, New York to celebrate the life of Woody Baker.
The service included many stories about this great man, who was so loved by so many.
As his grandchildren said, he was a very honorable, generous and caring soul and it was very clear that these kids learned a lot from him.  He loved being out on the lake and holding barbecues for the neighborhood.  A man for all seasons, to be sure.  Some of the stories told by his friends had us laughing...which was a good thing.

A luncheon followed and we were able to connect with our friends Carol and Topper
along with their daughters and grandchildren.

You have met them in many other posts.
 Woody was Carol's sister's husband.

There is something very unique and beautiful about this family.  They love to sing.
Gary and I joined them for at least a half a dozen songs and I think it was very good
for Woody's wife (Sue) to be participating.  In fact, I really want to get together with
Carol, Sue and their sister Ruth to do some serious doo wop tunes.
They really know what they are doing.

I crashed when we got home and watched another episode of "House of Cards."

Chores at 5:30.
99% of the snow is gone.
Where Berlin found all this mud, I will never know.

 Another soft, gorgeous sunset.

Night all.

A little breeze, the blades just turning, a gathering of celebration, laughter and singing, what better way to farewell a dearly loved man.
