Ice On The Water Trough...

Very crispy this morning.
Fortunately, Karen put blankets on all the girls last night so it would not be a shock to their systems after all the warm weather we have been having.
The sky was pretty wild when I woke up, then it became brilliant.
Gucci and Phoebe had to wear their coats out to the barn.
It was in the high 20s and their last grooming left them with pretty short hair.

Maggie was still gimpy and Karen ended up wrapping her front legs.

That sunshine was blasting into the kitchen when I went back in the house.

I had a 10am appointment with the massage therapist.  I have not been there in months and could really feel it.
From there I went to Apple Creek Farm to pick up some apples before we get hit with snow.
We only have about two days worth left of our own and I could not see letting them go to waste.
There were roses in full bloom near the house...it would have been nice to get a clear shot of one!

Spent the afternoon reading by the fire.
I also did a little research about the chords for a baritone ukulele.
Ordered one yesterday as they are similar to the top four strings on a guitar
and I like the size of it.  Determined to get a ukulele group going.  I'll also be playing it at the
jam sessions on Sunday afternoons.
There were snow flakes falling when I went out to do evening chores.

Sidney was smart enough to come in the house.
He has a very cozy blanket on a bench in the library.

Tonight we went to a Christmas party.
A great mix of people with all kinds of food and drink.
Our hosts, Leah and Doug, really do a great job in the entertainment department.
I had a request to take this photo of
3 Jens and 3 Scotts.
All in the same place at the same time.
Pretty neat, that we get invited to the same party
as people Jen's age.
Night all.

Oh, my ears perked up when I read "ukulele'. Here in California we have little groups all over the place. I play in one at a local Mexican restaurant who donate space on Sunday afternoon once a month. There is even a group that meets informally at the end of the Huntington Beach pier down in the LA area. It's such fun to play with these groups and we usually have about 20 people that join in each month. Rumor has it that there is a banjo ukulele under my tree and I can't wait to start playing it.

There's something about seeing the horses with their coats on that says "winter" to me. But I don't know that it's going to last -- At least not here in Virginia, we're supposed to be back near 70 on Christmas Day. Crazy...

I hope that your Sunday is an enjoyable one!
