Frosty Stopped By Last Night

Surprise, surprise.  After all these weeks of mild weather I woke up to a
hard frost and 28 degrees.
It was hard enough to look like snow.

Notice Abbe.  She is so stained I don't think she will ever look clean again.
(Maybe when their blankets go on....).

I do believe some colder temps are going to become the norm.
We've had a fire going since late morning and it has inspired lots of reading and rest.
My car has not left the driveway for days.
After making a second batch of ham salad from the Christmas Eve leftovers, I decided to throw the rest in a pot with some onions, carrots (there are still some out in the garden),
green cabbage and potatoes.  A classic New England dinner.  Added some cider vinegar and a little brown sugar to get that flavor we like so much.
The girls were tucked in by 5.  Maggie is still gimpy.
The house felt very cozy when I got back in....

 Took a quick shower
and fed the dogs.  As they are spoiled, at night they get a little of whatever we are eating
or peas, or rice if what we are having does not work (about 2 tablespoons).
They had 1/3 of a cup of kibble topped with potato, carrots, a little cheese and some ham.
I wonder if Lily and Edward get meals like this.

We had toasted French bread, extra sharp cheddar cheese, apple slices
and the boiled dinner.  Delish!!!!
Night all.

Lovely new header, perfect for the New Year. Leftovers are the norm here, ham, salad, a little cheesecake, fruit cake, sadly the shortbread has all been demolished!! Frost, that looks very heavy and thick.

Still cold and frosty here; more snow possible tomorrow night. Turned the horses back out and Jackson could give Abbe a run for dirtiest horse.

Wow, that is a lot of frost. We're still warm, rainy and foggy but it's turning colder today. Working on leftovers here too. Finished off the fondue yesterday but still have dome cheesecake left. Don't know if that's good or bad though!

Donnie, Grady and Blue could give Abbé a run for her money in the dirty stain department!
