A Record Breaking 17 Degrees

Just a little chilly this morning.  Good thing the sun came out.

Ironically, we have a five day warm up starting tomorrow going from the 50s up to 62!
I wonder if these apples are still good.
Chorus this morning-we were going 90 miles per hour, but it was a good rehearsal.
Spent the afternoon in front of the fire reading.
The moon was waiting for me when I went out to tuck in the girls.

After much discussion with a good friend, who has more knowledge than any of my horse pals (licensed by the British Horse Society), I decided to give Berlin a regular dose of Ivermectin.  Most of her hives are gone, and if it is threadworms, I think it was the right thing to do.  She seems to be back to her old self....is eating all her grain and hay...today she was running around with Abbe and Moon.  With the warm up, her blanket will be off and I can really keep track of how she is looking all day long.  Unfortunately, it may bring out the gnats.  Who knows, maybe it is not even threadworms.
Dinner was leftover sauce on bow ties.
Did not have the energy to make a salad, so we had some homemade applesauce that was hanging around.  Doesn't this look like a school lunch?
That's it....I'm in lazy mode.
Night all.

Cold air like that would make all of us want to hibernate!

From what I know, dosing Ivermectin close together has a very wide safety margin - so you can only be helping her out. After seeing that she still has hives popping up occasionally even past the allergy season tells me that this is probably an internal rather then a environmental issue. Have you had a scrape done by a vet? Although its just cheaper to dose her multiple times with equimaxx and wait and see - shes in good weight, and seems to improve...

Also, do you use a weight tape at all, Lori? I do use one, and it always amazes me how I can be 100 lbs off - and this 100 lbs can mean the difference in being effective where wormers are concerned. In fact there are statistics of where its been proven a large number of horseowners underdose at worming time, which adds to the problem of parasites becoming resistant to wormers in general. weight tapes have been my friend in that regard, and if you dont have one, any feed store or farm store should carry one (or dovers - my "go to" store :)

and yes, rest - winter will soon be here and then the real snow will come!

It does look chilly there. It would be bliss to spend an afternoon reading by a fire :)

I'll bet you will all enjoy the warm up! I hope the ivermectin helps-that seems like a reasonable attempt to help Berlin get better. She's such a sweet girl. Hugs to all the critters!
