Round Three - The Hives Are Back!

What a cold morning!   In the high 20s.
I was very disappointed to find hives on Berlin...again.
Went in and called the vet.

Finished chores and headed over to the Equine Clinic to pick up more meds.
I had planned to go over to Christina's World for a photo shoot and got there halfway through her driving lesson (had to go home first and give Berlin 2 pills).  On the way back to the meadow I took pictures of the beautiful flowers that were still alive and well in her gardens.   Obviously they did not get the hard frost we had last night.

The next door neighbors have cleared out their back woods and it's a perfect place for driving.
Dream was staying close to the action.
Do you remember Sandman?  Back in late spring Tina started taking a weekly lesson with Elizabeth, who she met here while she was working with Moon.
All this regular work has made Tina and Sandman quite a team.

 I was very impressed!
Dream said "goodbye" when I left (she lived here for awhile).
The clouds were outrageous on my way back to the farm.

Do you recognize the flowers?  Tina also gave me this ginormous fern that I put in the kitchen.
Late afternoon it rained off and on.
The girls were happy to get tucked in.

Night all.

Oh my I can't imagine how much work went into clearing that woods! It looks soooo beautiful. Gorgeous flowers too. I think I might like to live in Christina's world

Poor Berlin, I hope the meds get rid of her hives once and for all. Gorgeous flowers. Love the pictures of Sandman, he couldn't be more adorable and beautiful.

Oh goodness what a treat to see pictures of the beautiful Dream! I love her :) Sandman looks handsome as ever! Poor Berlin-sending her special hugs and hoping the hives go away :( beautiful pictures as always Lori-I love swinging by to see what you are up to!

I am sorry to hear the hives are back, so frustrating. I was wondering, are you still giving her dex? I have always heard that the steroids suppress the reaction, but don't actually treat it. They just drive the problem deeper and the hives always come back until the steroids are gone and the body can heal. I have had hives, and I have found that anything I do to treat them just makes them worse instead. Just a thought, maybe something to talk with your vet about. I hope they go away soon. Good luck.

Could Berlin's hives be related to her bedding?

That Sandman is a cutie!

Hives again??!! Good grief. I thought maybe the cold weather would kill whatever she's reacting to. Beautiful clouds -- and beautiful Sandman.

Dear Lori, those dahlias and the fern you brought back home are so lovely. Thank you for the brief video of Tina and the Sandman. What a beauty horse or is she a pony? The photograph of her at the very top of your blog is so stunning. Peace.

Wow!! Love the dahlias (?) and sky shots. Most of all, the new Header is drop-dead beautiful. Excellent details, notwithstanding the fact that the horse appears to be in motion. Very cool beans!

Beautiful flowers!! The sky in that last shot is incredible. I wish that we had someone around here to give driving lessons. I hope that Berlin is feeling better soon. My horse, Eco once had something similar. We never could figure it out. I did everything possible to get rid of the rash too. I even wormed him with a power pack to just see if it helped. The rash eventually went away and has never returned.
