As soon as I walked out to the paddock, the girls came up to me and said they wanted to eat.
"Could you please hurry up?"
After chores I started cleaning out my junked up closet...throwing things out and make huge piles of clothing that will go to Goodwill.
Had to quit a little before 11 as Roger and Tina invited us to go out to lunch. We ended up at Pelican's Nest and sat right next to the Genessee River. The sun was out, there was a little breeze, no bugs or bees....perfect conditions.
A seagull was next to us the entire time.
I ordered a turkey panini with avacado, spinach and roasted red peppers.
Gary and Roger had fish fries...
and Tina had a steak sandwich with au jus and a side of horseradish.
All tasted great. What a generous treat...thanks Roger and Tina.
On the way home we stopped at Abbotts and had ice cream.
(Except for Tina, who behaved herself)
We got "kiddie cones" as they were big enough!
At 2:30 I had an appointment with the massage therapist. Hot stones. Yey!!!!!!
Just before evening chores it started to rain....pretty hard.
Fed the Ponies under the shed roof and we were off to the grand opening of the SERC for our second meal out. SERC stands for Special Events Recreation Center. It is the most amazing facility at the college and they invited all the students, faculty and alumni to dinner. You could have Italian sausage with peppers and onions, veggie or turkey wraps, veggies and dip, fruit cups, corn dogs, cup cakes, popcorn and peanuts...plus drinks. This is Homecoming weekend.
Many of our friends were there.
Khalid and several drummers performed as part of the evening's entertainment. I am almost ready to consider participating in a performance.
Clyde and the Sankofa dancers were there too. Together they added a lot of energy to
the grand opening.
At the end of the entertainment Bill Evans (dance department) and two female dancers came out to perform. The president stopped everything and said "this is a special celebration, can't you do better than that?"

in a seconds, the floor was filled with 550 students....dancers, sports teams and more.
Just like those flash mobs you see on TV. Golllllly Gomer!
What a fun way to formally open the building. This particular venue seats 5500 people and a rock concert was to follow at 9pm. One of these days I will do a photo shoot so you can see the whole joint.

The opening looked like a fun time. Love all the dancing. I bet lunch by the river was beautiful... I can't see the photos. :( I don't think my Internet is ever going to restore which is why I'm not around much. I sure miss your blog, but things aren't working on my end.
Looks like a fun filled day with lots of good food and entertainment. Love that the weather is cooling off and the bugs aren't as bad. Hot stones sound heavenly. I'd love to find someone around here that does that.

Boy! You sure had a nice day from morning until night! The food at first outing with friends made my mouth water. The evening event at the Recreation Center looked like a lot of fun; pictures show much enjoyment.
