FIRST FIRE OF THE SEASON

It was grey and raining this morning.

Colder inside the house than it was outside and it put me in a domestic mood.
Picked some apples and decided to make some "Apple Betty."

As soon as we started a fire in the kitchen woodstove, the chill was gone.  We snuggled in and watched a Judy Dench movie.
Late afternoon we went out to the barn...I threw down some hay and Gary stacked it.
It is stored upstairs and we put 15 or 20 bales in the feed room at a time....there is a chute
that makes our job easier.

Sidney spends a lot of time out by the Studio.
 He wanted his picture taken.

Originally, I was going to make two pizzas last night, but since we had to go into Rochester, held off making ours until tonight.  Got it all ready before going out to do chores.
We had very few minutes of sunshine today.

Gary had the pizza in the oven when I got back in the house.  It turned out great....yum.

Time to get back out to the fire.
Night all.

Oh I was wishing we had a fire going this morning and again tonight. So early to start burning our wood but we may have too. Hard to believe I was complaining about the humid 40c weather:) B

Thanks for your visit and comment. Now, I have discover your farm journal. Such beautiful photos, horses, dogs, cats and delicious food, everything I love.

Big surprise, I see you are in the Rochester N.Y. area. I was a student at Eastman School of Music and lived in Rochester for 6 years. Such a beautiful part of the world. So glad I have discovered you!

I'll have a slice or three of that pizza, please. . . (Made apple crumble with my grandson recently.)

That pizza is making me hungry!! Jealous of your chilly weather and apple Betty. It was very hot over the weekend -- hoping for a bit of a break this week.
