THIS WAS NOT SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DAY....

This says it all.  Just a preview of how the day turned out.

The ponies went out on the pasture while I cleaned the stalls.  Not raining yet.

No sunshine coming into the main barn run-in.
In fact the wind was really whipping.

I had an 11:15 appointment with the massage therapist.

You know I've been there when I post a (fuzzy) picture of the fish tank.

Picked up a couple of things at the store and was home in time for lunch.  Then it started getting ugly outside.  As per usual, Pony was standing out in the rain and the rest of the horses were under the shed roof.  So, I put her in the back stall of the run-in  with some hay cubes and water.  Had to be happy to be in a dry spot.

I  put some hay out for the other four and they were smart enough to stay out of the weather.

It never got out of the 40s today.  Barb had chore duty tonight and I decided to put all of them in a little after 5.  She arrived around 5:30 and I went back to the house for a hot shower.

Made a salad and headed out to Hamlin for dinner.  We try to meet with two other couples around once a month, and go to each others homes.

Tonight we were at the Klines and had a spectacular meal.  The next time we will go to Cretney's.

We started off with all kinds of goodies....yummy cheeses and crackers.  AND some green olives with red things in the middle.  I put one in my mouth and Brenda and Al started laughing before I discovered that the red thing was a very hot pepper...and I had to spit it out.  "Get me a drink!"

Ann set a beautiful table.  Each of us got a little bag with Halloween candy in it.

We had homemade applesauce.

Beef tenderloin cooked to perfection.  Green beans with red peppers.

Mashed potatoes that had eggs in them...yes eggs...no butter, no sour cream.  Unbelievable flavor!

A green salad with beets (not in picture) and an excellent horseradish sauce for the meat.

Dessert was triple berry pie and ice cream.  What a meal!

Home by 10:15 and ready to crash.
Night all.

Rain, wind and cool temperatures is never a good combination. Hard to stay comfortable in that. Hope you have relief tomorrow.

Looks to me like you made a good day out of one with rotten weather.

I love the sounds of horses eating. The crunching is just so comforting to me. The food at the restaurant looks so tempting!
