TRANSITION

When it was still dark out this morning....Gary had a piece of the "Apple Pan Dowdy" I made yesterday (for breakfast).

Almost all of the snow was gone when the pups and I went out to do chores.

Gary moved all of his stuff off the porch to his barn so I could put the green rockers back in place.

Chores went quickly...fed the ponies in the front paddock. Most of them were under the shed roof but they prefer to stand in the mud.

Pretty mild...at least mild enough for Phoebe to get her butt outside.

Did some vacuuming, had lunch and then it was time for my class to arrive.

Look what Tina brought! She bakes them every year...and they taste as good as they look.

Only three people today.

Tina put together some Christmas cards.

Mel started another watercolor of polar bears.

Check out this beautiful case of art supplies he brought today. Talk about top shelf.

Deb has completed the first chapter of her book on family history...these are the paintings that she will include.

Today we listened to a little Christmas music.

Went out to do chores at 5. It had been snowing for a couple of hours.

Masterpiece held his usual position....

Abbe was next in line....

Can you see Winnie's breath?

As per usual, Gucci went with me and Phoebe snubbed her nose at the white stuff.

Jenny invited me to the Stock Club Christmas dinner that started at 6. Everyone contributed and the meal was great.

Char had many Christmas decorations inside and out.

Candles and seasonal music...

I was part of this club for years, but pulled out last year when I needed some funds. I invested in the training of Abbe, the cart, the harness, the lessons and here I am....trying to sell all that stuff and not driving. Oh well.

Jacquie and Mary...

How's this for an appetizer? Soy Beans boiled for three minutes, drained and salted. They were fantastic. Trish got the idea from a Chinese restaurant in New York City.

That's Char at the end of the table. She reads my Journal every morning around 7.

Trish and Jenny were testing out the vino.

Huh??????

Katrina (below) brought an amazing chocolate cake...the kind with no flour in it! A perfect way to finish the meal.

Home by 8. The road was very slippery and the snow continued to fall. Need to head for the couch so I can catch "The Good Wife." Night all.

Another busy day for you. The horses look lovely in the snow. Nothing stops Gucci. Finished off with friends and food. Life's Good on the Skoog Farm.

Okay...I said I would like the snow/rain/wind/snow/sleet/snow/sun thing as I don't do change well, but you, with no snow, in December...just doesn't seem right!! lol :)

Ahh, I saw two episodes of "The Good Wife" and loved it, but can never remember to tune in. Television isn't a big deal in our world....unless you are playing xBox...then they love it!!

Edamame! I love edamame - they're good shelled in a salad or a soup, too. The food in your posts always makes me hungry, and I always enjoy the updates on your art classes and seeing what everyone is doing.

Hi lori, if your husband likes irises send him over to www.irises.org Got to commercial links and look at all the wonderful iris sellers and breeders. Napa, Mid-America, Schreiners and Cooleys are some of the best.

I love today's music, and your new header photo. It has been TOO LONG since I was here. I think it's been weeks. I have missed you.
Merry Christmas!

Oh my! Where to begin? Okay - what is a "Dowdy"???? Love the buffalo plaid horse blanket. Don't you love when snow makes little white discs in your photos? Those green rockers are fine - just need a table with a bottle o' brandy. Tell Tina she outdid herself with the Christmas horse cookies. And, that Polar Bear card is wonderful! Happy, healthy people and candles. That's enough to make a day worth getting up for.
