KICK BACK....RELAX....

A nice, quiet morning.  No plans and no pressure.

Gary went down to Java for his morning  coffee run, and I went about my business in the barn.
All the ponies were happy and I loved not having to hurry.

Phoebe did not want to go with me for morning chores.  She does not like being outside for a couple of hours...instead, she prefers a 5 minute romp around the yard (or anywhere that has been shoveled).

Most of the day was grey.  This is the road in front of our house....it was covered with snow a couple of days ago.

Remember the amount of snow we have now, as it may all be gone by tomorrow night.

The mail boxes were almost covered by the plows, now look at them!

There is actually dirt showing at the end of the driveway.

This was the temperature when I finished evening chores....

If this mountain next to the paddock gate melts tomorrow, there will be a flood.

The saga of the Yucca plant goes on and on and on and on.....

We have had fires going most of the day, everyday.  I love being in the kitchen...it is so mellow.

A little comfort food tonight.  Had some ham left on the bone from Christmas Eve, so I made ham and cabbage with carrots, potatoes and onions.  I put in some vinegar and brown sugar to give it some zip.  We love to eat it with pumpernickel bread topped with homemade jam along with some extra sharp cheddar cheese.

Simple pleasures.  In the past 5 or 6 days, I bet I have not put 20 miles on my car.  Between the weather and the activity, I have been hanging close to home....a hermit in the making.

So now it's time for a shower and couch time.  Gary already fell asleep attempting to watch the PBS 7pm news.  We really are in low gear and lovin it.  Need to get back to some non-Christmas music!!!!

By the way!!!!  Thanks to all of you for your warm Christmas Greetings.

BTW- You a hermit? Don't think you are wired for that. :-)

I can relate to having some time to kick back and relax. I'm pooped from the Christmas festivities. But then again there are all the decorations to deal with. Our snow is melting too, can't wait for the mud. Do you believe it might actually hit near 60 on Sunday. What crazy weather.
