VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION DINNER...

Tonight there was a nice event at the Center ... most of those in attendance have contributed hundreds of hours in some way (making quilts for the homeless, working the front desk, setting up and serving meals, working in the kitchen....).
Wegman's, a local grocery store, supplied all of the food and delivered it prepared, and kids from the college worked in the kitchen and served.  A couple of the boys voluntarily went up and danced with some of the Seniors.  How sweet is that?  A nice event.  Oh yes, there was a live band that made it even more special.  Many of these folks are between 70 and 90 years old and I admire their ability to contribute and support each other.  Of course the kitchen is one of my favorite places... I enjoy volunteering there.

Sound slike a great event! This is what community is about, and without it life would be a very grey place.

That looks like an awesome kitchen too!

A special event to honor special people. I love the dance photos!

It's inspiring to see these wise elders nurturing the greater community instead of "retiring" from life.
