Every year at this time, my brother (also Gary) goes to Olcott, NY for some fishing. He takes time out to come to the farm ....not only to see us and Jen and her family, but to also pick up a big batch of leeks from our garden. When he goes back home from this trip, there will be a pumpkin shoot at his Rod and Gun Club and yes, they use pumpkins as targets and splatter them all over the ground. That day, he makes a huge pot of potato and leek soup for all of his pals.
We got the update on his family and were very happy to hear that his son is now home from Afghanistan for good. I just posted a picture of his daughter Katie and grandson Berke a couple of days ago.
